Graduate Assistantships
Full or part-time Graduate Assistantships are available for exceptionally qualified applicants. A Graduate Assistantship is an opportunity to assist faculty in research, teaching and/or outreach activities while earning your degree and to receive compensation (a stipend) and a tuition scholarship in return. Full assistantships (100%) require students to devote 20 hours per week, while half assistantships (50%) require students to devote 10 hours per week. For the semesters during which the Lerner College of Business & Economics provides an assistantship to a student, the Lerner College will also provide a matching tuition scholarship (100% or 50%).
The Corporate Associates Programs is an elite internship program that gives top Lerner College MBA students an opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job experience with a corporate sponsor. These positions typically pay a stipend and include some level of tuition scholarship.
Students not receiving a Graduate Assistantship or Corporate Associates position will be eligible for partial tuition scholarships, as described below:
Tuition Scholarships for Delaware Residents
All qualified Delaware residents not receiving Graduate Assistantship or Corporate Associates positions will be awarded partial tuition scholarships, reducing tuition to less than 50% of the tuition rate for the degree program. This scholarship will remain in effect for as long as the student maintains continuous enrollment in the program and remains in good academic and judicial standing. A leave of absence must be requested for matriculated students who need to skip a fall or spring semester so that their scholarship status remains intact. The partial tuition scholarship for Delaware residents will be automatically applied to the student account upon confirmation of residency status (see http://www.udel.edu/registrar/residncy.html for more information on residency requirements).
Merit-Based Tuition Scholarships
Merit-based partial tuition scholarships are also available to qualified non-Delaware residents. These scholarships reduce tuition by as much as 25%. Qualified applicants will be automatically considered for merit-based tuition scholarships; no application process is required.
