Artisans’ Bank is a local community bank whose mission is to provide a full range of financial services for consumers, small businesses and commercial customers.  The bank has 11 branch locations, as well as 2 commercial/consumer lending offices to serve the Delaware community. This position will support the Commercial Loan Division and will be housed in the corporate headquarters offices currently located at 223 West Ninth Street (9th & Tatnall Streets) in Wilmington, DE (moving to Lancaster Pike / Centerville Rd in January 2008).

Major Responsibilities

 The Corporate Associate will serve as a primary support for the bank’s commercial loan officers by assisting in credit reviews and risk analysis for new and existing loans.  Key duties will include spreading financial statements and preparing written financial analyses for existing and potential customers, and occasionally accompanying loan officers to client meetings.  The analyst will also assist in conducting portfolio analyses, completing special projects as they arise, and providing periodic reporting to bank executives and loan approval and review committees.

Minimum Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting and/or Finance  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with SQL or other relational databases
  • Analytical thinking
  • Familiarity with financial spreading software is a plus (RMA eCompare would be ideal)
  • Prior banking experience is a plus

 

Skills and Competencies

This position requires a student who is detail-oriented and customer-focused, possesses excellent oral and written communication skills, and can handle multiple projects simultaneously.
