Degree Requirements
The UD MBA curriculum is a 48-credit program made up of required and elective courses. Each course will challenge you to think independently, comprehend essential principles, and develop an understanding of the complexities of today’s dynamic business environment.

Electives (18 Credits)
Electives expose you to a wide variety of topics and can be grouped together to allow you to pursue a specific area of interest to complete a concentration or specialization. All MBA candidates are required to complete 18 credits of graduate-level elective courses. At least three credits of electives must have an international focus.
International Requirement
To ensure that all of our graduates have proper exposure to international business and its related fields, we require each student to take at least three credits of international electives to satisfy this requirement. This requirement applies to all concentrations and specializations.

Independent Study
Independent Study courses are available to those who wish to pursue specially designed research projects to enhance their MBA objectives. An independent study allows you, with the guidance of a Lerner faculty member, to design a course of study that satisfies your interest in a specific business topic. You must first contact a faculty member and discuss the potential area of interest. Upon approval of the faculty member, complete and submit the MBA Program Independent Study Policy and Request Form to the Graduate and Executive Programs Office located in 103 Lerner Hall.
Course Waivers and Transfers
Up to nine credits of graduate coursework MAY be transferred to the University of Delaware and included as part of the UD MBA. See the Credit Transfer page for more information. In addition, up to 12 credits of MBA coursework may be waived. See the Course Waivers page for more formation.
